This is a topic that has been blogged about by many likely because it continues to bite us in the asses!
This is the concept of stating the start of a diet as of a given day, i.e. I'll start on Monday...I'll start on the 1st of the Month...I'll start after the holidays, etc.
Inherent in all of those projected promises is something else built in. The lack of conviction to start with that very next bite. We build in to our rationalization the option of actually continuing horrible habits until some magical day that allegedly signals our renewed commitment to getting healthy while we allow entire meals to be consumed with usual reckless abandon. Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we diet?
Yes...that is some seriously @#!@ up stuff right there.
But, alas, it is what we do...most of us...some of us...definitely me.
A problem yes...a recognized one yes...but not as easily solved and I can only state here today that I know my beast and I know my burden.
I know the comments that you'll post already..and you are 100 percent right, but yet it doesn't seem to be the habit that is ever broken either.
Getting Better and Better...hopeful, not hopeless at the very least.
