I wanted to put together a little video made up of pictures and actual video taken while on a hike at the end of October. This was before I started my recent push for fitness. If I hadn't gotten down from 290+ (to 193 and back up to 240ish) and developed some level of fitness, this hike would have been nearly impossible. As it was, this was a very strenuous hike that I prayed for even better levels of fitness to really enjoy.
There are many other hikes out there in the world that we'd love to take, but know that health and fitness are the minimum requirements.
Glacier Point is one of the higher points in Yosemite Valley and provides awesome views along the 4.6 mile long trail gaining over 3000 feet in elevation and especially at the top.
You can get there by car/bus, but certainly defeats the fitness point. Some take a bus to the top and hike down as a compromise.
We hiked the full 9.2 mile round-trip. This is a long hike for us as it is, but with the climb and descent, it was pure torture. I was in a lot of pain the next two days. Again, I'm shooting for a much higher level of fitness.
Anyway...I hope you enjoy this as a bit of a change of pace from the fitness blogs, but do also take some inspiration in the rewards of getting more fit and what splendors you can enjoy.
Those pictures were beautiful!! I'm sure being there in person does not compare to seeing it on video...but those falls were beautiful..
